Keeping a pen attached to a uniform shirt through a full shift, and keeping ink off the pocket. Holders that grip a duty shirt, a jacket pocket or a badge line, in a jumbo style for a thicker barrel and a retractable style that pulls out and springs back. An antimicrobial additive is compounded into the plastic. Vinyl pocket protectors come with a shallow flap sized to a duty shirt and a deeper one for a coverall. Useful in recruit academy issue and station supply. Volume pricing applies.

Clipping the Pen to the Uniform

Ask a patrol sergeant how many pens the shift goes through and the answer is always more than it should be. Fasten the barrel to the shirt and it leaves the last stop with the officer rather than staying on a counter, and a pocket protector saves a uniform shirt that costs real money to replace from a leaked barrel. Small quartermaster items, quietly appreciated, and rarely thought about until somebody buys them.

No Neck Pens on This Shelf

Two things to say straight out. Despite the page name there are no neck or lanyard pens stocked here, so if that is what brought you here, call 800.431.3473 and we will work through the lanyard and badge holder shelves with you. And the additive in this plastic is a plastic treatment, aimed at staining and odor in the material. It does nothing for the wearer, and we are not going to dress it up as infection control.

Common Questions

Are neck pens available?

Not at present. What is here fastens to a shirt front or a jacket rather than hanging around the neck. Tell us the style you pictured and we will take you across to the lanyard and badge holder shelves.

Will a holder fit a duty pen?

A standard barrel does. A wide gripped one, a jumbo one or a heavy metal duty pen often will not. Send for the holder and the pen you have in mind at the same time and test the two together before you commit for a whole shift.

Is this an academy issue item?

It is a sensible one. A holder and a pocket protector cost very little inside a recruit issue package and they solve a problem every recruit is about to discover in their first month.
